Michael & Marissa Wedding

Beginning on the Helipad, with a ceremony on the edge of the Sunshine Coast, surrounded by rainforest and those amazing ocean views.

Then transition to the pavilion and garden party, with a glass of bubbles in hand, guests flowing through the whole venue while being entertained.

A specially built flooring concept for outside dinning sets the scene with the valley backdrop.

And then the grand finale, the “Supper & Dance Club” inside the Manor and the indoor/outdoor bar.

Dancing and indoor/outdoor bar are centrally located, as everyone knows dance time, and bar, go hand in hand, but this way your guests can flow from inside, to out, taking in the sparkling view of the Sunshine Coast lit up, and the beautifully lit grounds, creating a night time wonderland.

But still with a comfortable space for older relatives to sit, relax and chat inside, in total comfort, watching all the dance party fun.

Dreaming of a concept that flows through the whole estate, in a variety of spaces or rooms, all in a personal style of your own design?

Maleny Manor offers you individual styling, bountiful foods, plus truly professional assistance, ensuring the planning, but also the setup, is seamless.

Sunshine Coast Modern Coastal Fresh Wedding

The Modern Coastal Fresh Wedding Trend is sweeping in like a summer storm across the ocean in the valley after a run of festival backyard, shed rustic.

Modern Coastal Fresh is so perfect for properties that look out to the ocean on the magnificent Sunshine Coast, it can be similar to a festival but less boho, rustic and more of an elegant flow of wedding beauty from space to space all in total luxury, no porta loos and guest discomfort in the elements… adding in all the comfort but with a big shot of glam.

We are actually giving 3 big cheers for this concept as guest comfort goes right up again without the need for formal seating. It is the ultimate, not too formal but a luxury plus style concept, innovation overload to suit our region perfectly and possibly how it should be.

Are we owning our own style at last?

The Sunshine Coast Style …elegant ,sophisticated Coastal with Luxe Chill. It also brings in a time of great change over the last few weeks where couples expect great service again, service and quality is back on track and real wedding venues, quality crafted food for our foodie generations and total comfort with all amenities and great plan B’s. It is the most asked for trend this month.

Brooke wanted to be ahead of her time when she married Callum, it was to be timeless and classic but with a modern twist and we believe she captured it perfectly, but more perfect… they captured it to suit themselves.

It was a real privilege to work with this couple and their beautiful families in a day of friendship ,love and respect.

As the saying goes …What is the best gift you can give a couple… Love , Respect and a RSVP

Our Design team of Love bird Weddings and Mondo Floral Design fit the brief in style bringing the four main elements together …

Modern Coastal Furnishings

Classic Textured Florals and Lush Potted Plants

Relaxed Spaces and Rooms for Flow

A Modern Twist on the Traditional Classic

Note the use of masses of fresh potted plants in fresh white tubs framing the view, white and wire, modern tables, brass and lots of fresh greenery for zing and texture. Softened with a classic white floral base, olive leaf, gum,David Austin roses, scented stocks, white tulips and Queen Anne’s Lace. Rooms to flow through not just one reception room, a stage to be set and move through each scene from ceremony looking out to the ocean, to garden party, then outdoor pavilion ,to indoor lounging, supper bar of designer sweets and Maleny cheese bar and then of course dance time but the ability to flow back outdoors again into the night and romantic spaces.

Add to that mix Queensland’s best Celebrant Jarrad Bayliss for one super mix of care, fun, timing and polish in the outdoor ceremony… no one quite has his dash and style as yet. This is also a 2018 trend of the professional Celebrant that is also being sort after and we have a great list a celebrants on our website.

The Love Note  duo for some cool afternoon outdoors vibes and then taking it up a notch for the reception and dance time on the D Floor, they have also swept onto the scene fitting this breif perfectly.

A wedding cake that is not just a wedding cake by one of Queensland’s most reputable cake makers Lee Berryman from Cake Designs Wedding Cakes.

And super images of cool by Luke Going Photography.

We always suggest if you are going to do it do it well with great suppliers and we will help you create you own special style…just ask us!

Walk a day in her shoes

Walk a day in her shoes…..

Challenge accepted!

We all think after a few years we know all about it …but do we actually?

No sorry we don’t, so operation walk in her shoes began.

Step one organise the details with some great friends in the industry.

Step two get the right undies, shoes and attitude and go for it.

Step 3 try to act natural in front of the camera with the fab Talitha from Artography. Another great learning curve!

Elizabeth de Varga and Makeup by Kim McLeod came to the rescue with at least 15 gowns , jewels headpieces and the know how…thank goodness.

As our Brides often get ready onsite it was the best exercise we could have done to see how it feels, how long the process takes and how to manoeuvre in a gorgeous gown when you are not used to frocking up.

Where we out of our comfort zone YES, did we feel odd, then great ,then awkward …ummm yes we did in a beautiful, fun kind off way.

It made us reassess spacing, cueing of entrances to the ceremonies, patience when you move and the gown is not flowing…shoulders back flick and kick…smile and turn.

It gave us a better idea of the timing from upstairs to the ceremony pavilion and how to go about it. How long it takes for the girls to start to relax into the process of being a superstar for the day.

An appreciation of how much they may be out of their comfort zone hoping all the planning and choices come together on the day so you are the one in the white dress looking and feeling amazing.

So not only was it a great team building exercise and much cleaner than Tuff Mudder or Paintball the Kitchen staff suggested but it gave us some great tips.

  1. We all have bits that work and do not work for us choose a gown made for you and altered for you with love and care.
  2. Makeup can be a breeze when you have wedding professionals
  3. Getting ready onsite is enough without transporting to and fro to a venue.
  4. A relaxed environment is essential.
  5. You will need help with a long train or veil and we can advise the bridesmaids better on gown handling work place health and safety now for all involved. Yes some gowns are a work of walking art and have to be treated accordingly.
  6. A pre shoot for your engagement will make you more comfortable and cancel out the poses you think my work in which on reflection simply look odd.
  7. Staircase guide advice now comes from first hand experience.
  8.  Bouquet positioned bellybutton and out making a beautiful frame of your silhouette with your elbows.
  9. Have a spot for tissues or a hanky or a gown with pockets…very handy.
  10. Enjoy it and the process with all your heart and with some assistance from the venue and those that care about you have the time of your life.

Above and Beyond

Above and Far Beyond 42 degrees

The wonderful staff of Maleny ManorWe have returned from our wonderful honeymoon in the Whitsundays and are slowly coming down from cloud 9!

When we booked Maleny Manor for our wedding day, I must say from all the awards and the great testimonials I’ve read, my expectations of you guys were pretty high. I always knew that you guys were going to be good. But the service we received from you all was FAR beyond what we had expected.

SheenaMark0552

If I’m doing this chronologically, it will start with Amy suggesting a run sheet for me. She knew I was conscious of getting the reception started asap which meant I wanted photos over and done with. We went back and forward but she really made it clear that we’d regret not having photos taken at sunset. I am terrified at the thought of if I hadn’t listened to her! The photos we have from sunset are INCREDIBLE. I will show anyone willing to look at them (some attached haha!!!)

Now the day was, well, WARM! 42 degrees was not what we were expecting for a November wedding (particularly for bunch of Kiwi’s!). The staff were amazing with cold towels and more importantly – cold drinks! Many guests commented about how amazing the staff were not letting their beers get warm and how the staff always remembered what each person was drinking.

With the meals, only a couple of special dietary requirements. Both of them had their meals delivered to them and were greeted by name. They were amazed at the attention to detail.

My beautiful 93yr old Nana stayed outside all evening, looking ever so luxurious on the couch that you had lugged all the way down from the reception. You all kept an eye on her and updated our table during dinner with how she was doing so we wouldn’t have to worry.

Amy was an absolute god send with my dress. Taking so much care and time to pin it up as it kept coming off the bussells. Such a professional and I am so grateful!

Anyway, I could go on forever about how great you all are, but you must get bombarded with emails like this.

Thanks again so much, you all had a huge part in making our day as perfect as it was.
Regards

Maleny Manor Testimonial

Thank you for looking after us on our wedding day!!! It was such a memorable and perfect day and so much of it was thanks to the amazing job you all did to make us feel so special and cared for on the day.

We would like to make a special mention to the Manor herself! We felt very honored to have it all to ourself for 1 day, she didn’t disappoint and the view, grounds, reception area, rooms and loft were beyond anything we had ever imagined. Everything was manicured to a tee, spotless and clean and like no one had ever been married there before. We cant thank you enough for the effort you went to making the venue look how it did on our wedding day, it was breathtaking.

I think we have literally had a phone call or text from all of our guests with the loveliest feedback about each and every one of you as well the day on a whole. We had one of our Uncles say ‘it was the best event he has ever been to’, one of my girlfriends said ‘she would do anything to taste her entree just one more time’, my Mum saying ‘it was the best day of her life’, my wedding planner girlfriend saying ‘she cant believe how attentive the wait staff and Amy were on the night to everyone in the room’, I had my Auntie’s in total ore of how well their kids were looked after and made to feel very special and not to mention ourselves pinching ourselves on the day and also for the last 3 weeks that that was actually our wedding! it was like a dream!!

Marlene, thank you for keeping me grounded during that little hiccup of mine with the flowers. Having you there kept me calm in a moment of meltdown, but it was only a moment because of your genuine love and support.
You were also that smiling, caring face popping in out of the room and checking on us during the night, so we thank you for that. You go above and beyond and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Peta, thank you for being my go to girl throughout the whole year leading up to the day. None of my emails went unanswered no matter how small the question. You were so helpful with advice in putting together the day I cant thank you enough! You made it all the more pleasant for me.

Amy, thank you for your attentiveness and care throughout the day and weeks leading up to the day. You are just so lovely and we were so lucky to have you as our coordinator for the day. I felt like we really got along well with you and I loved that we could have a giggle together during the day. You were perfect.

Simon, thank you for your genuine fun and happy presence you have, its truly infectious and all our contact with you has always been light hearted and so helpful and caring. We remember the morning we were leaving you helping us with the flowers, nothing is ever too much trouble with you so we thank you for all your support to us.

If you could also pass on our gratitude and thanks to all the wait staff and chefs and anyone else we are forgetting for their amazing service on the day. Guests were blown away with the service they received with their glasses always topped up and cleared away as needed and the food which was a huge hit!! So thank you, you helped in making our day as perfect as it was.

We have already been on the ABIA site and rated Maleny Manor venue 100/100 – there is nothing we would change about the day, it was perfect in every way and we still pinch ourselves that we had the privilege of having our wedding at the always beautiful Maleny Manor and with a team like you.

I have attached a few photos for you of the day.
