What a wedding Courtney and Damon had, with a series of events that will no doubt make their special day more than unforgettable. To start the evening off, one of the two twin page boys lost Courtney’s wedding ring whilst walking down the isle. The ceremony proceeded without too much distress while band members and Maleny Manor staff scouted the grounds frantically in search of the important ring. After much hard work, a band member spotted the ring metres under the stairs. It took a coat hanger and a bit of getting dirty though eventually the ring was retrieved just in time. I am sure now that the 3rd April 2011 will be a day Courtney and Damon never forget. Congratulations!
Sunday 27th March was the wedding of Eleanor & James. Their lovely personalities made their day an absolute joy. Eleanor’s show-stopping red hair looked absolutely stunning with the beautiful blue bow tied around the waist of her tule dress. James went for the not so common grey suit that matched everything perfectly. From the simple flower arrangements to the amazing bridal dresses, the evening couldn’t have gone any better. Congratulations Elley & James.
Wonderful choice of decor and theming by Splash Events, complimented by the simple arrangements of florals put together by Mondo Floral Designs. A cocktail style wedding that ended absolutely perfectly. Congratulations Jillien & Matthew, Married on the 18th March 2011.
One of our most beautiful couples of the year.
Testimonial from Ben & Amanda -
Dear Simon, Marlene, Natalie, Peta and everyone at Maleny Manor,
Firstly, we have filled out the questions regarding the nomination and have nomintaed Maleny Manor as our favourite, so we wish you all the best for the competition.
From the bottom of our hearts we would like to sincerely thank all of you for making our day so amazing. January 15, 2011 was in the middle of a very tough month for Queensland due to the horrific weather conditions and devastating floods and a very tough month for my family also, as my Mum’s Dad, my Grandfather passed away only a week and bit before the day. So much loss and bad news in such a short amount of time had us seriously questioning whether or not to go ahead.
We are so glad we did not. It was the best day!
Everything ran perfectly, thanks to the beautiful dedication of everyone involved, particularly everyone at Maleny Manor. The venue was stunningly beautiful, lush and green after weeks of heavy rain, the food was mouth-wateringly delicious, but the most important thing was the people. Caring, patient, helpful, happy and genuine – thank you all for your work and your care beforehand and on the day. Our Wedding Day would not have been the same without you all.
Love Ben & Amanda Pooley
Extraordinary detail from the jaw-dropping dress down to the petite pink lolly bar. The fabulous bow theme topped off a beautiful day. Sheena and Daniel were married on Saturday 26th February 2011.
After much hassle due to flooding and having to take their honeymoon to egypt pre-wedding, Cayne & Andrea tie the knot. What a fabulous wedding it turned out to be.

Maleny has had over 2m of rain since October 2010… rain keeps falling breaking the record each day in Queensland for three days from Sunday the 11th of January.
The library closes as the water came closer under the bridge to the centre of town. Properties began to experience flooding, landslides and power outages, the township resembles a ghost town and the driving rain makes you wonder about how safe you really are.
The roads open under a series of pot pits not pot holes any more, tiers slash and rims buckle, accidents occur and sirens traverse in the eerie mist.
Our record rains purge into the Stanley River and Mooloolah river systems swelling off the mountain in opposing directions flooding into a week of extremes down below.
Like the rivers sadness flows to our Manor families, to friends, guests and relatives of couples in ways we could not have imagined hurting, stressing, exhausted and grieving.
Weddings cancel or postpone, details are irrelevant as families are lost or have lost everything.
People rally together the emotion is high, the need for closeness amplified, grateful for all we have. The speeches more poignant ,the hugs a little longer, the I love you’s truly deeply dispensed just encase we should not get the chance again.
In all the turmoil love and spirit return and you stand back in the corner of the room to watch and feel privileged to be a part of it all.
